How much is your community paying for ambulance service?

Ambulance companies receive their revenue from three primary sources, government subisidies (tax payers), insurance companies (medicare, bcbs, cigna), and private payers (user fees).  In general, ambulance companies that service urban communities, do not receive government subsidies.  Typically, these providers have sufficient patient transports to support their operations.

For instance, the tax payers of Kalamazoo, Calhoun, and Kent counties pay nothing for ambulance service.

CEMS is the only tax-free ambulance service in Berrien and Cass county. If your not in the CEMS coverage area, how much are you paying in taxes?
